Ride the lagoon past the Thousand Islands. Watch for dolphins, manatees, and native wildlife on a quiet 2.5-hour trip.
Cocoa Beach boat tours run from one dock on the Cocoa Beach Causeway, out onto the Banana River Lagoon and through the mangrove channels of the Thousand Islands. Resident bottlenose pods feed here, manatees graze the shallows year-round, and wading birds work the flats. Our pontoon is comfortable and steady, no experience is needed, and every trip is open to all ages.
We run at no-wake speeds through the sensitive stretches and keep a respectful distance from every animal, which is what lets you get close without pushing wildlife off the water it depends on.
Wildlife You Might See
Sightings shift with season, tide, and weather, so nothing is promised. These are the animals that turn up most often on our Banana River boat tours.

Dolphins
Resident bottlenose pods live in the lagoon year-round rather than passing through. They feed and socialize alongside the boat, and they are usually the first sighting of the trip. Dolphin boat tours in Cocoa Beach work because the animals are local, not because anyone goes looking for them.

Manatees
Slow grazers that browse the seagrass in the shallows. Cocoa Beach manatees are easiest to spot in cooler months, when they gather in the warmer lagoon water. Manatee tours in Cocoa Beach are not a separate trip here, since manatees share the same water as the dolphins.

Herons and Wading Birds
Great blue herons stand motionless in the shallows along the island edges, then strike fast enough that you miss it if you blink. Egrets, ibis, and roseate spoonbills work the same flats.

Ospreys and Rays
Ospreys circle above the channels and drop feet-first when they commit. Below the surface, rays glide over the sandy bottom in the clearer stretches.
Other Ways to Get on the Water

Sunset Trips on the Banana River
The same water, lit differently. Golden light on the flats, birds heading to roost, and a good chance of dolphins working the channels.

Rocket Launch Viewing From the Water
The Space Coast launches often, and the lagoon gives you an open view north toward the pads with no crowds and no parking scramble. These trips run when launches are scheduled, so dates follow the launch calendar rather than ours. Call to check what is coming up.

Bioluminescence Trips After Dark
On warm, new-moon nights the same lagoon glows electric blue wherever the water is disturbed. Those night trips are run by our sister company, Bioluminescence Boat Tours. They are seasonal, and the conditions matter more than the date.
Orlando sits about 60 miles west, a straight run down the 528 that takes roughly an hour. That makes a morning or afternoon trip an easy half day out from the theme parks, and it is the most common way guests reach us.

The Banana River Lagoon sits behind the barrier island, which keeps it shallow, sheltered, and calm on days when the ocean is not. It is part of the Indian River Lagoon system, a shallow estuary running most of Florida’s east coast, and Indian River Lagoon boat tours out of Cocoa Beach cover its most sheltered stretch.
The Thousand Islands are a maze of mangrove islets a few minutes from the dock. The channels between them are where the wildlife concentrates, and where a shallow-draft pontoon can go and larger vessels cannot.

Every trip leaves from 333 W Cocoa Beach Causeway. There is one dock and parking is free.
Cape Canaveral boat tours and Port Canaveral boat tours generally mean this same water, since the lagoon runs north behind the barrier island toward the port. Guests come over from the port terminals, from Merritt Island, and from Kennedy Space Center, which sits just up the road. If you are comparing Space Coast boat tours across the area, this is the sheltered inside route rather than an ocean run.

I highly recommend Eco Tours! It’s the best family boat ride to see dolphins, birds and manatees! The captain and boat staff are extremely friendly, funny and create an optimal experience! They even allowed the kids to help steer the boat! Definitely check it out!!!!Posted on Google![]()

Coco Beach Eco Tours was a blast. My family and I chose to do this tour early morning after July 4th weekend and we had a great time. There is certainly plenty of wildlife to be found and the captain is very knowledgeable and likeable. If you have the time to check them out, you’ll have a good time and see some dolphins, manatees, birds, and maybe even more.Posted on Google![]()

How much does a boat tour in Cocoa Beach cost?
The dolphin and wildlife trip starts at $32 per person for 2.5 hours, with up to 36 guests on board. There is a bathroom on board and parking at the dock is free.
Do you offer glass bottom boat tours in Cocoa Beach?
No. The lagoon is a shallow, soft-bottomed estuary, so the water is often tannic rather than clear and a glass bottom would show you very little. Wildlife here is watched from the deck, above the surface.
How long are the boat tours?
The dolphin and wildlife trip runs about 2.5 hours. Sunset trips run about 1.5 hours. Launch viewing depends on the launch window.
Weekends, holidays, and winter manatee season fill fastest, so book a week or more ahead. Weekday spots sometimes open up last-minute.
Do your tours leave from Cape Canaveral or Port Canaveral?
All trips leave from our dock at 333 W Cocoa Beach Causeway. It is a short drive from both, and the lagoon we cover runs north toward the port.
What should I bring on the boat?
Sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and water. Bring a camera or phone with room on it. Soft-soled shoes are easiest on deck, and a light layer helps on sunset and evening trips.
Ready to See Some Dolphins?
Daily trips leave from the Cocoa Beach Causeway. Watch for dolphins, manatees, and native wildlife from a quiet pontoon boat. All ages welcome, no experience needed.
